'Tis a Moment...

Welcome to the digital portfolio of Stacy Nicole Edwards, the brand enthusiast and social strategist currently tweeting from Austin, TX.

CURRENT FUN FACT -- I have been deeply concerned about the seemingly juvenile gmail account I've had for years. This said, since their are practically no Google account names left, I decided to just wait to change my name once I married (mind you, I am not engaged). This is a reasonable solution that would make any feminist proud; thank you for recognizing. However, once Google+ decided to become a viable social media platform for brands, I decided to finish my personal rebranding and transition accounts. that is how committed I am to this field. #wow

While in NYC, I interned with Basis Foods, a mission-minded food distribution company that works with local farms to bring food into the city, with a CSA/farmer’s market flair. While there, I created their Facebook page, increased their Twitter engagement and created a recipe blog. I also helped organize and advertise a day trip of about twenty people to visit “our” farms.

In its infancy, the communication tools of the Wagner Food Policy Alliance (WFPA) were simple. We chose to maintain Facebook and Twitter accounts and regularly update a Wordpress blog. The blog functioned as both an announcement portal and space for original work regarding food policy.

My first exposure to marketing and social media communications came inadvertently while at NYU Wagner, working towards my Masters in Public Administration. After discovering a lack in any organized forum for students to discuss food policy issues, I decided to begin a study organization called the Wagner Food Policy Alliance. Little did I know that this venture would (1) increase my interest in leadership and team management and (2) open a world of marketing and communications through new media. This is the logo & Facebook page I established.
